Welcome to our photo album. Here you'll find a smattering of pictures of our family. Because of the flexibilty of our CMS, there are several ways to present the pictures. Browse about, and please feel free to comment on what you like better, why you like it, and how you would make it different if you had your druthers.
The simplest presentation is a straightforward Image Gallery.
Additionally, we have organized the individual pictures into this book format. Follow the links at the bottom of the page to look around!
Enjoy!
These pictures are strictly family. You can jump into the Image Gallery here, or just follow the links at the bottom of the page to look at the pictures one at a time.
These are mainly baby Gabe pictures from 2003.

What a night! I think Josh and I were both still in shock of becoming parents. Heck, it still hasn't sunk in and we have two children now! Will it ever sink in?!?

Gabe was, and still is, a bed hog. I don't know how many times Josh and I have had to rotate him 90° so he's not taking up half of the bed!

Here Gabe was about three months old. What a happy boy he was and still is!

First time we had Gabe out fishing. Didn't catch much, but this one was definitely Gabe-sized! Gabe was five months old.

Gabe after one of his many baths wearing a cute Bugs Bunny towel (I don't think he cares for it all that much:). He's a little over 2 months old here.

Gabe had many funny facial expressions that kept us laughing. Here he is on his first day home wearing what we affectionately refer to as his "bulldog" expression.

Just a cute picture of Gabe and his stuffed bunny:) He's about eight months old.

Gabe trying his first veggie - squash. He loves it now:)

Josh and I are taking Gabe swimming for the first time at Tioga Beach in Grand Rapids.

Josh getting Gabe started early on honing his computer skills:) Gabe was about seven months old.

One of Gabe's many facial expressions. This one we refer as the "pig face".

One of the youngest Vikings fans, Gabe sporting the purple and gold. He even has his own touchdown dance (which he hasn't been able to show off much these last couple years...).

Josh and I love going to the ren fair. This big character was walking around one time and we convinced him to hold Gabe. He makes Gabe look soooo tiny!

We bought this little costume for Gabe at the ren fair. He's so cute!

Gabe's first Christmas, thought he would look cute in a Santa hat. He is:)
Pictures from 2004.

I took this pic while Gabe was napping (and dreaming about boobie as indicated by the tongue:). Gabe was learning how to walk and did a face plant on the cement driveway. Poor Little Man!

Gabe's cute little butt (future blackmail material:). He's about 13 months old.
.preview.jpg)
The first year we took Gabe trick or treating in our neighborhood. Notice his little stinger:)

While Josh was building one of many computers, Gabe wanted to help out. He's saying, "Yup! Everything looks good in here, Dad!"

Gabe's first birthday party:)

Gabe going for a ride in Papa Skip's van. Those spots are calamine lotion on mosquito bites. He's about 14 months old.

Gabe waving hello!

Christmas 2004

This was a common site when Gabe was first learning to eat solids. Fortunately, he's much better nowadays:) He's about nine months old.

This is what happens when you turn your back for just a minute....Gabe's about 15 months old.

Close-up of Gabe, what a cutie! He's about eight and a half months old.
Pictures from 2005.

Gabe enjoying a little cake and ice cream on his second birthday.

Gabe has always been a water baby and still loves water to this day! He loves bubbles, too (but who doesn't, right?).

Gabe was kind enough to allow Daddy to join him in his bath (and even let him play with a few bubbles, too!).

Doesn't Gabe look like a little angel here? Most of the time he is, then there are other times...

Gabe sitting in the captain's seat on our boat. Doesn't he look like a natural?

My brother, Scott, and his family bought Gabe this bicycle for his second birthday. Once Gabe learned how to pedal, he was zooming around!
Introducing Michaela!

Michaela was just a few days old here. She was a little jaundiced, but very cute:)

I just love the way that Gabe is grasping her hand and she is looking at him as if to say, "I got the best big brother ever!".

Josh holding Michaela in the hospital her second night in this big world. She loves sleeping on his chest like this to this day.

First thing Gabe wanted to do was hold Michaela as soon as we stepped into the house.

Michaela after one of her baths.

Michaela wearing Gabe's shades last Christmas.

Michaela wearing my hat, what a doll!

Just a picture of me and the kids on Easter.

My, how fast they grow!

Gabe in his Halloween costume. Scary, ain't he?

Me and the kids on our family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.

Michaela ready to go home from the hospital.

Thanks to a cool present last Christmas, Gabe has an alternate identity, Super Gabe!!

Looks like Michaela wants a kiss:) She is about 2 months old.
In November 2006 we went on a vacation for a few days to the Wisconsin Dells. We stayed at the Atlantis Hotel in one of their Neptune Suites and spent many an hour playing in their indoor water park and the jacuzzi in our room. This is Gabe coming off of one of the water slides in the park.
Michaela went through a stage of sticking her tongue out a lot. My mom, dad and Grandma Helen said Burt Mickle always walked around in a similar fashion. That's our silly girl:)

Michaela likes to dress up. One of the times we were at my parents' house, she saw my dad come in from working on wood wearing his hat and gloves. So, naturally, Michaela wanted to try them on:)

Michaela's first Halloween. She makes a cute little kitten!

We have one of Gabe's butt, so why not one of Michaela's butt:)

Michaela's first bath at home. Look at how tiny she is!

Michaela trying her first veggies, squash.

Gabe doing his pig face now;)

Michaela getting her first taste of grass. She's seven months old.

While raking last fall, the kids loved playing with the leaves. Michaela was about eight months old.

Gabe had a blast with all the leaves!

Michaela in her Easter dress. She's about two and a half months old.

Michaela dressed all in pink, a cute little outfit my parents gave her.

Michaela's first Christmas Grammy Linda bought her this adorable little dress. She looks like the little elf that she is:)

Michaela's taking after Gabe when it comes to water. I think she loves playing with it just as much as he does!

Michaela looking very cute and very silly!

Gabe and Michaela rocking in Papa's chair (Grammy Linda in there, too:).

Michaela catching some much-needed z's. She's about three weeks old.

Gabe climbing up the slide at the water park at the Atlantis Hotel in the Wisconsin Dells.

Gabe wearing the wolf slippers that Papa Skip gave him.
Pictures from 2007.

This was taken at the train station the day we met Thomas the Tank Engine.

Gabe is a great big brother and gives rides to Michaela on his tractor.

We took the kids camping for the first time this year and they loved it! So, every now and then we set up the tent in the house and sleep in it:)

The kids just love my hat! Doesn't Gabe look like a natural:)

Michaela loves being outside. Gotta love warm summer days!

Last summer the Minnesota Zoo sponsored a Child Safety Day. The Apple Valley Fire Department had one of their trucks there and Gabe was in heaven!

Last fall Gabe was practicing his casting. He's pretty adept at it now and ready for this year's opener!

We are very fortunate to have great neighbors across the street who happen to to have kids the same age as Gabe and Michaela. We play with them quite often:)

Gabe loves Thomas the Tank Engine! So, when Thomas was in Stillwater last summer, we brought Gabe to see him.

For Halloween Gabe was Elmo and Michaela was a Renaissance Princess.

I just love this picture, they're in such close proximity and they aren't fighting:) Bill Cosby had it right when he said, "Parents aren't interested in justice, only peace". So, when Gabe and Michaela are getting along, we truly cherish the brief moments:)

We always go up north for Christmas, so we always have Grandma Sherry over so the kids can see her. Here they are during her visit.

One of our many activities in the summer is heading to the nearby play ground. The kids love riding in the wagon, so what better way to get there!

For Gabe's third birthday, Papa Skip gave Gabe this really sweet John Deere tracker and trailer. Gabe has put many miles on that thing! I'm surprised that we have any grass left in the back yard!

One of the many trips to the Children's Museum introduced us to Bob and Pilchard.

My, how the time flies! Michaela's first birthday came fast.

Papa just loves to spoil the kids. Go Papa, go!!

We love to go swimming at Fort Snelling State Park (even though the lake is populated with man-eating sunnies:).

I don't know who loves water more, Gabe or Michaela. Michaela sure looks like she's enjoying herself:)
Pictures from 2008.

Mom, Papa, Grandma Helen, Gabe and Michaela:)
Hard to believe, where'd the summer go?!?
Wow, Gabe's first day of kindergarten! I still can't believe Gabe is a school boy!
All set to head out the door, Gabe wanted to make sure that his little school bus name tag on his backpack was in the picture! Doesn't he look handsome!
Gabe was sooo excited to ride the bus and I was close to tears watching my first-born heading off into the big world by himself (ok, so kindergarten isn't exactly the big world).
Gabe waving goodbye...
Gabe getting off the bus after his first day. He's not in tears, that's a good sign:)
Michaela giving her big brother a hug (or the other way around really:) after a "hard" day at school:)
Last year we took a vacation to Wisconsin Dells. The kids had soooo much fun, we went again this year and stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. We highly suggest this place if you want to take your kids somewhere that has lots to keep them happy:) They have an indoor water park, arts and crafts for the kids, indoor play place, game arcade, bedtime with Wiley Wolf, etc.

Michaela coming down one of the small slides all by herself. What a big girl:)

Gabe taking aim!

Michala taking aim...

Kids going for a ride in a little bus in the arcade.

Gabe is such a clown:)

What Gabe and Michaela were aiming at, lucky Daddy!

Finally got a four generation with both kids:) Included: Michaela, Papa Calvin, Grandma Helen, Stefani, and Gabriel.

Looks like she stuck her finger in a light socket, but all she really did was rub her head against the tent (a few times:).

Can you believe it, Michaela is two years old...where does the time go!

This turned out to be a great shot of Grandma Linda, Papa Calvin, Gabe, and Michaela:)

Our two little angels:)
Just some pics from a few of our summer excursions:)
What would a summer be without the state fair, county fair, Valley Fair, and the Ren festival:)
The first thing Gabe wanted to ride was this huge slide...a few times:)
Because of height restrictions, Michaela has a limited choice of rides. The carousel never disappoints her, though:)
The state fair was a bit wet and gray, but that didn't stop the kids from enjoying themselves:)
The kids on the carousel at Valley Fair.
Look-a ride they can both enjoy, and it's not a carousel!
We went to the Renaissance Festival with the Whelans (aka the bestest neighbors in the world) again this year. Gabe and Torrie had their faces painted last year and wanted to have them painted again this year. Michaela decided she didn't want to be left out:)
Close-up of Michaela's cool tiger face. Doesn't she look purrrrrrrrrr-fect?? I know, I know, bad bad pun Taffy!
Gabe wanted to have one that looked like Torrie's, so he got the boy version.
Our family riding an elephant (weeeeee!). The kids also enjoyed having a ride on a llama. Maybe next year they can ride the camel, also:)
Do I have a crazy son or what?!?!
Last fall, Gabe wanted us to remove his training wheels from his bike. He was going short distances and would purposely fall (he thought it was fun!). This summer he started where he left off, but is now riding great!
The bestest neighbors in the world (Eran, Cindy, Torrie, and Carson Whelan) invited us to join their family vacation to the Dells in July, so how could we say no:) We stayed at the Kalahari Resort which had everything-indoor and outdoor water parks, arcade, shopping, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc. It was a lot of fun!
Within minutes of getting to the hotel, we had our suits on and were heading to one of the many pools. As you can see, Gabe was having a blast:)
Finally, a boat that's just the right size for Michaela!
Carson (a little shy), Torrie (always poses great for the camera), Michaela (she's like, "Can you see me?"), and Gabe (showing off his coloring).
There were a few guys running around in costumes, and Michaela had to hug each and every one of them (bless her little heart:).
Michaela and Torrie sitting on the gorilla.
Cindy, Eran and Carson Whelan. Did you know, Cindy and I go out once or twice a month and sing karaoke?
Gabe posing on the gorilla.
Gabe and Torrie are pretty good buds. Cindy and I are hoping they get married so we can be in-laws:)
Josh with Michaela and Eran with Carson. Aren't they great fathers:)
These pictures include people and places outside the immediate family. Again, here's a direct link to the Image Gallery. Or, you can just follow along the book navigation at the bottom of the page.
Family reunions, get-togethers, etc. in 2008.
Pictures of my immediate family taken at Mom and Dad's when Rita dropped off Patrick and Ricky for the summer. Just think, if it wasn't for MamaDoo and PapaDoo, all these people (besides them, of course) wouldn't exist...:)
My brother, Bill, and his daughter Jenna.
My daughter, Micheala, and my only neice, Jenna.

Left to right: Scotty, Vickie, Cody, Scott, Michaela, Stefani, Gabe, Linda, Jenna, Bill, Patrick, Calvin. Rita, and Ricky.
Every summer Patrick and Ricky stay with my parents for a couple of months. When it's time to head back to Michigan, Rita drives to Minnesota and we all meet up at Auntie Billi's for some great food! Oh, and being together is fun, too:) Thanks to Billi for being an awesome auntie and letting us use her place and for feeding us:)
My brother, Bill, and his daughter Jenna.
Our wonderful hosts from left to right: Colton, Billi and Chris.
A group shot of all the family. I love looking at the big family shots because it's cool to think that everyone in them is in some way connected to one another.
My beloved rents, Calvin and Linda Mickle.
Left to right: Michaela, Josh, Stefani, Gabriel, Calvin, Linda, Jenna, Bill, Ricky, Rita, and Patrick:)
Stefani, Josh, Gabe, and Michaela.
This is my beautiful sister, Rita, and her two boys, Patrick (left) and Ricky (right).
Two of our friends, Jeff and Holly Sinkola. I bet Bill has some stories about Jeff...and vice versa:)
Grandpa Floyd, Gabe, Stefani, and Michaela. I'm not sure, but I think Grandpa Floyd is my oldest living relative...someone correct me if I'm wrong, please:)
Grandpa Floyd always gets a kick at comparing out thumbs and seeing how they curve. Just a little giggle between he and I:)
I got up to see my Grandpa Floyd this month. He lives up in Tower, Minnesota, so it's a long drive! He's my paternal grandfather and he's turning 97 this November!
Been a few years since we had had one of these, so it was a nice surprise when my cousins Alissa, Tony and his wife Candy planned one. It was held at Tony and Candy's house in Superior, WI. Thank you for all the time and effort you put in to get us all together again:)
From left to right: Ricky, Bill, Jenna, Linda, Patrick, Calvin, Stefani, Michaela, Josh, and Gabe. If you want last names, drop me a line:)
from left to right: Julie, Darwin, Tristan, Jennie, Austin, Jeff, and Dylan.

Left to right: Angie, Jack, Imogen, Nicole, Tony, Candy, Steven, LeRoy, Anne, Alissa, Blake, LeRoy, Logan, Sebastian, Shandi, Kyle
From left to right: Shirley, Trevor and Corey.
I title this one affectionately, no offense intended:) Left to right we have: (auntie) Shirley "Babe" Mickle, (uncle and aunt) Darwin "Peanut" and Julie Mickle, (uncle and aunt) LeRoy and Anne Mickle, (PapaDoo and MamaDoo) Calvin and Linda Mickle.
This was everyone minus Alissa's boyfriend, Matt, who was kind enough to take the picture. If you want names, refer to individual family pictures:)
Left to Right: Jennie, Alissa and Stefani.
Tony and Candy Mickle (my nephew Patrick in the back ground). Thanks to you two, Alissa and everyone else who helped make the reunion happen!
As many of you know, I love horses! My wonderful parents bought me and my siblings our first pony when I was around five years old. So, I grew up with equines and was heart-broken when I moved away to attend college and couldn't spend time with my horse, Jackpot. We ended up selling him to a good family, whom I hear still has him to this day! After moving back to Minnesota, I reconnected with my Auntie Billi, who so happens to love horses just as much (if not more) than I. She just so happened to have a few horses (woo woo!!), so we started getting together on weekends to play. I quickly bonded with a beautiful (and stubborn as hell) pinto named Kyan Pepper and we eventually began trail riding. Two summers ago, Kyan was bit by a tick and contracted anasplasmosis and was out for the season. Last summer he came down with a harsh case of laminitis and was, again, out for the summer. He is doing much better, hooves are almost at 100%, so Billi and I decided that it would be a great idea to spend some time and much-needed TLC with him to get him into shape for this riding season. I researched some boarding facilities in my area and was lucky enough to get into one that is less than ten miles away. Billi had been telling me for months and months that Kyan was my horse and on March 1, 2008 he officially became my horse! We transferred his papers to my name and moved him into the stable. I've been working/playing with him 2-4 times a week. Josh has been extremely supportive and understanding, and often jokes that I have a boyfriend on the side:) But Josh knows he's my main man:) Anyway, here are a few pics and will have more to come:)
The stable where Kyan calls home, the Triple S, has a fall fun day where they have all these horse and rider games (egg in spoon, red light-green light, musical stalls, barrel racing, etc.) and a horse and rider costume contest. Over the past couple years of going to the Renaissance Festival, I've been putting together a gypsy costume. So, why not make one for Ky...it's a work in progress:)
I actually mounted the blanket on my bareback tacky pad with velcro so I won't have to worry about it sliding off:) I still have a few more things to add...
A little bling never hurt...:)

Here I am with my mom and aunt doing what we love - riding! The horses, at the time this picture was taken, belong to Auntie Billi June and are very sweet boys (not to mention beautiful!) :) Now, as you know, Kyan is my guy!

Kyan head shot.

The first summer Billi and I rode together, she on her grey arab Solitaire (Soli) and me on Kyan.
