FTP is an acronym for File Transer Protocol. It was designed when there were no bad guys on the internet (not quite true, but kind of ...), and has some security issues that make it a challenge to administer securely. We very much prefer you to use SCP if possible, though most website building applications don't have an option to use this built in.
Radke Land does offer limited FTP services for those with hosted websites. You won't be able to host a public FTP server for now (there are some security considerations that don't seem worth tackling for now). You may have a customized FTP account which allows you access to only your own website's directory. If you want this set up, just contact the webmaster.
